iworldpeople® is a NZ owned and operated web site providing local web sites for suburban communities all over New Zealand. Your local web site is a hub for your community, with all of the content created by local residents, businesses, clubs and organisations. Because it is important that each local web site will be part of the community, most iworldpeople communities have a team of two (always local people) who make sure the site is successful and meets the needs of the community. This team of two will be out and about in your community, and showing people, businesses clubs and organisations how to use the many services, many of which are free.

Our goal is to reconnect people to their local communities, to provide a platform for neighbourhood conversations, and to enable local businesses, clubs and organisations to connect with the local people in their neighbourhood.

iworldpeople is about a sharing of information at a local community level, where everything is created by, and for, the people, businesses, organisations and clubs of that community. iworldpeople revives past values of neighbours, local businesses and organisations talking with each other, and sharing useful information and know-how.

The ideas behind iworldpeople were developed by two New Zealanders, Dennis Roberts and Karen Bridgman. The entire site was built by New Zealand web developer Peter Butler of Clever Software Limited.

Access local knowledge on line

People care about the people and things happening in their local communities but with our pace of life these days it is easy to get out of touch. Yet we all like to know and talk about things like school zoning, house prices, the best sports clubs and restaurants close at hand and we?d far rather use good businesses that are local than have to travel far away. There is so much that goes on every day in our local communities yet they just can?t all be covered in depth by the local newspapers. iworldpeople enables communities to connect (individuals, organisations, clubs and businesses) to share community news, information and opinion with each other, unmediated by editors.

Share what you know about your community

Post (for free!) your own news and information about your community, articles and opinions, and comment on what others have posted. Share photos of events, sports games and happenings around your community. Ask for recommendations or post a review of a local restaurant.

What's happening with our school zoning changes? Can anybody recommend a good house painter? Who won the soccer club tournament? What's the best local Thai restaurant? Have you seen the photos from the last school fundraiser? My child wants to play cricket, where are the nearest cricket clubs in my area? Who is the new Principal at the local school? These are the kinds of questions and conversations that take place constantly in a neighbourhood - now you can read about it and share it on your own community web site. Or, if you want, start by posting a photo of something that's going on that you think others would like to see - for example a sports game or community event.

Read news and articles about the voluntary organisations in your community - you'll be surprised at how much is going on that you never knew about. To find out more, visit their free iworldpeople WebPage to learn more about what they do and how you could help. Read about their next fundraiser or event and if they use our free classifieds as a fund raiser, make sure you support them. Find out more about our services for
